Piroshky, Piroshky

After a quick search through popular joints in Seattle, I noticed people kept talking about this Piroshky, Piroshky place. And judging by the massive lineup out the door (that dwarfed the one for Starbucks, haha), the reviews must’ve been true!

Since it was too hot for something savoury, we decided to get some of their sweet concoctions. First off, we have the Apple Cinnamon one (4.35). It wasn’t too sweet and the apples still had a bit of crunchiness and tartness to them. You can really taste the cinnamon and brown sugar that is present though (kind of reminiscent of an apple pie).

Secondly, we have the Cinnamon Cardamom Braid (4.20). It’s essentially a cinnamon bun but in a different shape.

Lastly, we have the Chocolate Cream Hazelnut. The crust is very flaky like pie crust and the chocolate has a jelly like consistency and tasted quite nutty (almost like nutella, but not as heavily chocolately).

Good:

-Really delicious pastries

-Wide selection

-Quick, friendly staff

Bad:

-REALLY pricey (Granville Island level of gouging)

Closing Comments: I think if for nothing else, people should try it once for the sheer quality of their goods. Would not recommend eating this regularly though, not only for dietary reasons but for steep prices as well.

Overall Rating: 8.5 PBJ’s out of a possible 10
