Mr. Shawarma (Food Truck)

I’ve probably passed this food truck like a billion times when coming out of Burrard, so there’s no excuse for why I waited until now to try it! They’ve basically your usual fare, with Shawarma wraps and meal boxes (those looked HUGE). The only gripe I had was that the food was a bit slow coming out (despite there not really being THAT many people lined up) and it was FRIGID outside…brr.

I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Wrap (6.50 including tax). It was by no means Donair Due sized, but you know what, it was plenty filling! The wrap had a nice crispiness from being toasted, which helped prevent the moist insides from seeping out. The chicken itself was well seasoned, don’t get me wrong, but it was quite dry. Thankfully though, they REALLY loaded up on veggies and Tahini so it kind of balanced itself out I guess. They also add some sort of fries to it, which is pretty unexpected, though it actually really works out as a whole (texture wise)!

Good:

-Cheap

-Filling

-Fairly solid

Bad:

-WHY SO SLOW?!

-Maybe I caught them on an off day, but all the employees were pretty grumpy

Closing Comments: For that price, and the quality of food I got, yea sure I’d definitely visit their truck again.

Overall Rating: 4.1 PBJ’s out of a possible 5
