Located near what I think is the border between New West and Burnaby, Market Crossing (aka that shopping centre on Marine Way) boasts quite a few edible establishments for shoppers and the hungry alike. For today’s visit, we head off to the Cactus Club there because it was surprisingly nice out, and the patio looked relatively attractive from the outside. When we arrived, the greeter said she’d get an outside table for us, then shows us to a dining room table (Sigh…good help is hard to find).
I ordered the Cajun Chicken Sandwich (13.75). The fries were very hot, crispy, fresh, and had a well balanced level of salt. They actually kind of reminded me of a certain fast food chain’s (cough McDonald’s cough) albeit not tasting like a heaping bowl of salt. The chicken was very juicy yet had a very nice chargrilled aftertaste to it, and having a nice kick to it as well! The cheese was nice and gooey, though I think it was a little unnecessary to have it all (the chicken could hold the sandwich on its own). The bun was just how I liked it, nice and fluffy!!
-Good service (the server was good, the greeter WAS NOT)
-Far out if you’re not already here
Closing Comments: It was a good tasting sandwich, don’t get me wrong, this place is just a little far out if I wasn’t already out here
Overall Rating: 3.5 PBJ’s out of a possible 5
