Twofer: Arby’s (Metrotown) and Dex Gourmet Buger Bar

——Since fast food adventures aren’t really “full” adventures, I’ve decided to roll these two into one—-

If you’re new to Metrotown’s food court, it can be a bit overwhelming as there are quite a number of stalls to choose from (though, I think they had more selection when it was originally 2 food courts). Oddly enough, I think out of all the joints, one of the few I hadn’t been to was Arby’s. I’m generally not interested in the whole burger and fries ordeal, but they had a special where you could get 2 roast beef sandwiches and medium fries for $6…how could I resist lol.

I really liked the sandwiches themselves as the meat was super moist, warm, and soo soo savoury! (the bun was a little on the soft side though, and felt like it might disintegrate at any second). I love their curly fries as they were crispy and quite well seasoned…though they’re still nothing in comparison to Costco’s McCain (I’m sure they are) Fries

Good:

-Cheap

-Filling

-Find it tastier than, say McDonald’s

-Quick

Bad:

-If you’re looking for something healthy, better off going to Cultures

-Everybody there seems to have taken the apathy pill

Closing Comments: It’s pretty cheap, and it makes you full. If that’s all that you’re looking for, Arby’s is the place for you! Surprisingly enough, I haven’t seen many of them left…especially after the Oakridge one closed and became Timmy’s.

At Lonsdale Quay, I think one of the longest standing food places in the food court has to be Dex’s…though they’ve changed hands several times now. Still, thankfully, that hasn’t really affected the quality!

Yes, seriously I just got Fries (I think it was 2.95). They were nice and crispy on the outside while still being soft on the inside, so good stuff. I used to get hot dogs there, and damn were they good, but as of late, they just keep jacking the prices up higher and higher…used to be like 4-5 for a dog, now it’s closer to 7-8.

Good:

-Fries are a good snack, not many other places there where you can get  ’em unless you’re up for rotten Ronnies

Bad:

-Prices man…gougingly high

Closing Comments: When you go to a burger/hot dog place, always have to try their fries…if they can’t get those right, how good can the burgers be?
