No stall too small!
Having not seen each other for AGES, Lil’ L and I decided to catch up over something sweet and decadent. Since it was apparently National Macaron Day, and they were giving away macarons for donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, we headed to Soirette!
The only pet peeve about eating Macarons is that I find the 2 dollar standard for one piece outrageous but whatever…I digress. Today, we have Mango Passionfruit (the yellow one), Chai (the brown one with no markings on it), Earl Grey (the blue one), and Bailey’s Espresso (the brown one with flakes).
The Mango Passionfruit had a very light sweetness to it while still managing to not be overpowering. The Macaron itself was very delicate and flaky (me likey! )
The Chai, much like the tea, was very flowery and is a flavour I can see myself considering as a favourite (I have a soft spot for Chai)
The Earl Grey one was sweet, but it lacked any taste resembling Earl Grey. Like the sweetness is noticeable, but it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what kind it is (i.e. it just tasted like flat out sugar)
The Bailey’s Espresso flavour Macaron was pretty solid. The coffee taste was very pronounced and beautifully offset by the sweetness of the Bailey’s
-Friendly and attentive service
-PRICEY PRICEY PRICEY
Closing Comments: They were pretty good, and since it was all going to the foundation, I conceded. I don’t think I’d visit here, nor any other shop often or at all due to the unjustified 2 dollar price for every single piece.
