Kingston Taphouse & Grille

Lately, there’s been more and more bar food joints opening up downtown. Kingston is no exception! The moment you walk through that door, your face will be hit with an overwhelming sense of coziness and intimacy. Although not like a ma and pa kind of intimacy, it has its charm (I really like the old fashioned, brick feel to it!). Anyways, enough about the swanky decor…

I got myself the Prime Rib Burger. At $12, it’s one of the cheaper things here, but it’s still quite a sizable portion! The fries were reminiscent of how Sears’ Cuiscene Restaurant used to make them before they cut back to the small, depressing ones. The burger..YUM! Sorry for making so many comparisons to Sears, but I must say this one trumped the other one by a long shot! The Caesar salad was a little heavy handed on the dressing though, unfortunately..

Good:

-Good portion size

-Swanky atmosphere and restaurant

-Tasty burger

Bad:

-Pricey

-Gets really busy

Closing Comments: A good example of a place that serves pretty darn good bar food! However, if you’re on a budget, this might not be your place as the drinks and some of the entrees can really get expensive.

Overall Rating: 3.5 PBJ’s out of a possible 5
